Hello and welcome to my website.
About me : I was born in London, England, and studied Fine Art to degree level in Bristol before becoming a teacher.
In 1992 I visited Mexico, and warmed by the climate, the colours, and the people, I found inspiration and stayed for 12 years.
The majority of my paintings are watercolours. I particularily like their transparency, and they are easy to use whilst travelling.
I consider that my talent lies in being able to capture the essence, or atmosphere of a place, by the use of carefully observed details, arranged in a way which enables the viewer to see more than would be possible with a photograph.
I believe this is why my postcards sell succesfully, and also why I receive an increasing amount of private commisions.
